At Marcon he said 3 weeks. I haven't heard beyond that...okay, he's got studio time booked tomorrow. I guess that counts.

Anybody going to Lucky Lab on Monday? Could get an update :)

Overseas postage
Can you tell me how much it would cost for international postage? I'd like Wintertide and I'm in New Zealand. I've not yet heard any of Heather or Alec's music, so I'm taking a punt on this one on the advice of a friend.

The Heather Alexander Complete Songbook is $54.95 + $3.50 shipping
does this have sheet music?
jenk
Dec. 29th, 2008 08:04 am (UTC)
Yes, it contains sheet music for all of the music written by Heather. The songs she co-wrote with Phil Obermarck are also included, but not the covers and traditional songs like The Witch of the Westmereland or Twa Corbies.

Getting down to brass tacks: Most songs have the melody line, guitar tabs/chords & lyrics. Guitar players can work from this easily. Piano would need to build an accompaniment from the chords.

Fiddle tunes have the fiddle line.

Basically, it's sheet music, not full arrangements. I do have a copy if you have more questions.

Perfect, how many songs in all?
Does it include any of the songs from the Mercedes Lackey books?
jenk
Dec. 30th, 2008 01:01 am (UTC)
Not sure the number is listed, and I'm not going to count them. :) I do know there are no songs from the Mercedes Lackey books.

The book contains lyrics & music for the songs Heather wrote (or co-wrote with Phil) from:
  • Wanderlust
  • Life's Flame
  • Midsummer
  • A Gypsy's Home
  • Insh'Allah
  • Festival Wind
  • Album of Secrets
  • Enchantment
  • Merlin's Descendants
  • Arms of the Sea
  • Everafter

Basically this is the music that Heather / Alec / Sea Fire Productions has the rights to publish. Does that clarify things? (Btw if you go to filk cons or scifi cons that have filking there is often copies of this at the circles, if you want a looksee.)

Dang, is there any way of getting a hold of the songs Heather Alexander wrote for the Last Herald Mage books?
I've never been to a filk or scifi cons.

Hey... I had a question and I'd love to get an answer if you've got one to give. ;)

What was the name of the live recording at 2006's OryCon? I was there and the preformance took my breath away.
So in short, If it has a name I'd love to know it as well as figure out if there's a way to order it...

That preformance was one that ment a lot to me to be there and witness, so it would mean the world to me to find out more about that recording.

Most especially for the energy the room gave through the whole thing, it was very energetic and enthralling, and I'd especially like to once again hear that last conversation between Heather and the Fae...
I'd been trying to find anything on it, even perhaps a transcription of the event, but I can't find anything. :(

That last concert as Heather was pretty special, and was released on DVD. It's called "Everafter"... there is also a CD called Everafter, and that's the last studio album Heather completed.

And yes, it can be a wee bit confusing that both are called "Everafter", and one is a studio album and the other is a concert recording!

Awesome! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
"Everafter", I'm going to have to remember that and purchase it as soon as I get the $$.

I was a little (or a lot, depending how you look at it!) late in joining up with this LJ group and got to browsing through the various posts and I was happy when I saw this one.

Is it still possible to order from Kore and Alec through PayPal (Cat & the Fiddle and A Familiar Promise specifically)? I guess I should have checked before I went ahead and did it last week or the week before but I was a little excitable. I’m sure schedules are busy for them but since I hadn’t gotten any sort of confirmation back I thought to check.

It is still possible to order through PayPal, and I double-checked that the prices haven't changed last week. They have been on the road what with the Washington Ren Faire so they're probably a bit behind, but if you want to confirm, you can email Kore at celticougarnw@aol.com.

Just to be clear: I'm the community mod but don't have any real connection to SeaFire.

Thank you. :) I just thought someone might have a better idea on things than me!

I figured they were still busy with someone so I haven't been making a pain of myself.
